JJ Gerber is a two-time Emmy-nominated creative producer and filmmaker. His feature documentary credits include the News & Documentary Emmy-nominated OMOIYARI: A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI (MTV Docs, 2023) currently available on Paramount+, HARMONTOWN (SXSW, 2014), and WE ARE BLOOD (The Orchard, 2015). He also served as a consulting producer on the Emmy-nominated BEAUTY IS EMBARRASSING (PBS Independent Lens, 2014), helping develop and execute its nationwide hybrid distribution strategy. His short films have been featured on TED-Ed and screened at film festivals across the country.

Along side his work as a doc filmmaker, JJ produces commercials, main title sequences and brand design campaigns & packages. He has worked with Apple, Meta Oculus, Amazon Music, Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Ben & Jerry’s, Reese’s and many more. He has produced packages for the Oscars, VMA’s and CMA’s, along with network rebrands for SyFy, Nickelodeon and Freeform, and title sequences for shows on HBO, Amazon Studios, Netflix, Marvel, Bravo & Hulu- including, BOSCH, STRANGER THINGS, DARK SAILS, MAGIC CITY and more.

JJ is active in community building through his role as the board president of Seattle Documentary Association. He is an active member of the PGA and DPA.
